4th Generation Meat Cutter's

The first store in Barre

A better look at my Great Grandfather

Bob's Meat Market was founded in 1979 by Robert (Bob) Provasi Sr. First located on South Main Street in St. Albans, Vermont, Bob's had very little parking but the store did very well and was profitable. People came from as far away as Plattsburg, New York as well as from all over the local area.

Six years after it's founding Bob Sr. sold his business. The year following the sale to Bob and Rob Provasi the store was moved to Barlow street in the building formerly known as Cristies Market. (See Map) Now with plenty of room the store employs 3 meat cutters. This trade has been handed down from generation to generation. The current 'Rob' is a forth generation meat cutter and can answer any questions you may have regarding meat.

My great grandfather comes from Italy and started the first of the butcher shops back in the 1920's. His skills and the trade were passed to my grandfather, to my father and now to me. Throughout, our family has taken and still takes a great deal of pride and care with our trade. Proper handling and safety are always present in the operation of our store.
